On 28 January 2021, Supplementary Appropriation No 2 2020-21 was passed. It recognised additional Government revenue of $54.6 million in 2020-21, and $54.6 million in expenditure was appropriated for 2020-21, with a balance of $6 thousand.
This will bring total expected revenue for 2020-21 to $317.8 million, and $317.8 million is appropriated for expenditure, leaving a surplus balance for the year of $65 thousand.
The updated revenue and expenditure estimates take account of:
- the six month extension of the Regional Processing Centre (RPC) agreement with Australia from 31 December 2020 to 30 June 2021,
- the outcome of the mid-year review of budget estimates that reflects the impact of better than expected economic conditions in the year to date, and
- Government decisions taken since the last supplementary appropriation.
