Overview

This page provides detail on prior year government budgets.

Nauru’s financial year runs from 1 July to 30 June.

Nauru operates on a cash basis and appropriations lapse on 30 June each year.

The annual budget is usually approved before 30 June each year.

Supplementary appropriation bills are passed through the year to update revenue estimates and expenditure appropriations.

Quarterly budget performance reports are produced to track expenditure and revenue performance through the year.

Annual financial statements are produced and submitted to the Auditor-General for audit after the completion of each financial year.  There is currently a delay in the production of financial statements, related to capacity constraints in the Department of Finance.
